Industrial development play an important role in the development of the country. To Provide the requisite quality & quantity of trained man power at different level, Govt. of India set up the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) in the year 1966 in collaboration with UNDP-USESCO. The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus.
p> In 1967, the Institute was renamed as "Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT)", which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune. From the relatively narrow scope of Armament Studies alone in the Fifties, the role of the Institute was considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council in 1964 and further in 1981. p>.......XLRI was founded in 1949 by Fr Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur. Fr. Enright visualized XLRI to be a partner in the liberation and development journey of the independent India with a vision of "renewing the face of the earth". Fr. Bill Tome joined hands with him to bring that vision to fruition. Both, together with the other Jesuit companions, worked tirelessly towards translating the Vision "Renewing the face of the earth" into action.

CDAC, Noida - formerly known as ER&DCI, Noida - is a constituent unit of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, a Scientific Society of the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India. It is a multi-campus center with two campuses (R&D and Academic) separated by a distance of about 100 meters. The overall built-up area is around 17000 square meters.
