The JOSEPHITE tradition started in Bangalore with the opening of the St. Josephs European High School by the Paris Foreign Mission Fathers in 1858. In 1884 St. Josephs College was established. It has grown steadily and today has more than 6000 students enrolled at the Undergraduate and Post Graduate Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer and Management disciplines.

Christ University was born out of the educational vision of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of CMI congregation. Acharya Institutes is managed by Samagra Sikshana Samithi Trust , which is solely dedicated to imparting professional education to all segments of society . There as many as 11 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate courses in various streams such as physiotherapy, nursing, medical lab technology, radiography, biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, management and computer science.

At the outset, we forced ourselves into a Blank Slate approach of development - We agreed to challenge everything about the ITM PGDM, from curriculum to pedagogy, training and placement. Once we wiped the slate clean, a project team headed by Dr. P.V. Ramana, the chairperson of ITM began to conduct extensive open-ended discussions with over 100 CEOs and business heads across India.
