DESHBANDHU COLLEGE was established in the year 1952 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, in the late Sh. Deshbandhu Gupta-a veteran freedom fighter. The college made a humble beginning with just 72 students and the courses like Prep (arts), Prep (Science) and Pre-medical. The College was transferred to Ministry of Education and later taken over by University of Delhi.

KALINDI COLLEGE was established in 1967 by the Delhi Administration as a constituent college of Delhi University. Initially housed in a school building in Dev Nagar. After that it shifted to its present location in East Patel Nagar in 1970. From a center of learning in some arts & science courses, it has developed through these three decades as a premier institution of higher education which can boast of a faculty of over 100 & students strength of 2000.
