The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is a National Centre of the Government of India, under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy, as well as a deemed University awarding degrees for masters and doctoral programs. At TIFR, we carry out basic research in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science and science education. Our main campus is located in Mumbai, but we have additional campuses in Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

DESHBANDHU COLLEGE was established in the year 1952 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, in the late Sh. Deshbandhu Gupta-a veteran freedom fighter. The college made a humble beginning with just 72 students and the courses like Prep (arts), Prep (Science) and Pre-medical. The College was transferred to Ministry of Education and later taken over by University of Delhi.

P.G.D.A.V College was started in a modest way on the 17th of August 1957 by the D.A.V College Managing Committee, one of the biggest educational trust in the world. It started functioning in a small portion of D.A.V school on Chitragupta Road in Pharganj with a single digit number of teachers and double digit number of students.
