Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute of Economic Development & Social Change, Patna (LNMI) is the premier management Institute of Bihar offering MBA, MCA and MHRM programes to the inspiring persons. Recognized by the AICTE, New Delhi, the Institute is functioning under the Government of Bihar and has been granted autonomous status by Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. In 1973, "Bihar Institute of Economic Development" was established to carry out research aimed at facilitating socio-economic development. In 1975 to preserve the memory of late Sri Lalit Narayan Mishra, the then Union Railway Minister, the Institute was renamed as "Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change (LNMI)" and very soon it diversified into education with courses in Office Management, Business Management, Marketing & Sales Management and Personnel Management & Industrial Relations. As the demand for the various Management Programmes changed with time, some of these courses were dropped, other modified and new ones added. Later on, the Institute was taken over by the Government of Bihar.

The Institute's campus is centrally located at 1, Bailey Road, Patna, west of Patna High Court and south of Women's College. Glorious 29 years existence itself reflects its excellent and grand success in the area of Management and Computer Education, Research and Training not inside the country but in Institute is equipped with two modern state of art air conditioned library with seating capacity of 100 where books, magazines, periodicals, journal of national and international repute, e.t.c. are found. Recently, a on-line Computer Training Centre has been established under the Capacity Building Programme, Department of Information Technology, Govt. Of India to impart computer training to Govt. Of Bihar employees of various level. A LAN has been established to interconnect different sections / cells / departments of the institute to increase efficiency of the employees. A large no of National and International Research Projects related to Socio Economic Condition have been completed. Publication Division of the Institute support not only in publishing of Institute's Magazines but also various types of journals and books. The placement cell of the Institute provide better employment prospects to our students organizing campus interview and assist them to get employment in open market. Institute's Alumni Association is proving a better platform to know our Ex-Students occupying very good positions in different public and private sectors. Various type of culture activities are often organized in the Institute. The Institute has a impressive fully air conditioned Auditorium with 300 very comfortable seats.
