The four year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) course is a leading to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of competency, awarded by the ministry of shipping Government of India, after six months of sea service, enabling the cadets to become Marine Engineers on board Merchant Naval ships anywhere in the world. This course is strictly residential.
10+2 Candidate should have Passed in 10th, +2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%. 6/6 in each eye without visual aids. Normal colour vision. Candidates have to undergo a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department before being finally selected for the course.
Being a fully residential programme, Hostel facilities for the candidates consist of well designed dormitories. Mattresses, pillow covers will be supplied to each cadet on the date of joining for their use during the training.
