Sandhu Institute of Nursing Mahalon, S.B.S.Nagar(Nawanshahr) is the brain child of philanthropist and renowned personality of Banga ‘Dr. Bhagat Singh Sandhu’ who served as a doctor for nearly sixty years. He always advocated the uplift of women & down trodder. Taking inspirations from his ideas & deeds, Mata Kulwant Kaur Educational Society was formed after the name of his wife late Smt. Kulwant Kaur . It was decided by the society to start G.N.M. (General Nursing & Midwifery) course for the girls. Sandhu Institute of Nursing was established in the year 2003 in the building of Sandhu Eye Hospital Banga with the first batch of 60 students. The institution was shifted to the present new building in 2004 at Mahalon, S.B.S.Nagar(Nawanshahr) in a campus of 3 acre & 3 kanals.The hostel is provided for 180 students with all the modern facilities. Sandhu Institute of nursing caters for an education that acquaints the students with the various intellectual strategies for understanding the natural and social environment. Also developing in them moral and spiritual values to enable them to face varrious situations in life.
