Shanti Education Society, the promoter of the Poornima Group of Colleges awards Gold Medal to the topper and Silver Medal to the second topper of Department of Management Studies (PGC) in Final University Examination every year. In session 2009 - 2010 the management had also decided to commence one more gold medal to be named as ‘Medal to The Most Talented Student’.

At that stage, something that a student actually needs is someone he/she can look up to and search of all those random questions rising in one smile. Mentorship, an intensive concept of Poornima hostels is an answer to all such needs of a fresher in which new comers are paired with seniors who advice and guide them through personal and professional issues. The mentoring process provides an opportunity of development and mutual benefit. The mentorship program in the hostel is run through activities of academics, extracurricular, sports, cultural and project making. A hierarchy is maintained through the students for fulfillment of its objectives It is not only beneficial for the mentees but also provides an ample array of opportunities for the mentor to evaluate weaknesses and work upon them. A mentor, with responsibilities and aspirations with his/her shoulders, learns the vital quality of working in a team, practicing the worth of leadership and emerging as a better professional. In academics guide their juniors by taking various topics, doubt solving sessions and illustrative lectures.
