The programme is specifically directed to upgrade the critical thinking skills, competencies and standards required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery as envisaged in national health policy. The programmes are intended to enable the graduates and assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurse and midwife in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
The Course is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, the regulatory authority for nursing education in India. The degree is awarded by the Sikkim Manipal University.
In 2 years programme, the college offers an educational and clinical experiences as well as technological exposures to the students. Students have excellent and challenging opportunities and they are professionally involve, explore nursing through exposure visits to communities, Primary Health Centers & Community Health Centers and have access to clinical experiences in two hospitals – Central Referral Hospital and STNM Hospital.
