The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) is a non profit vocational education institution of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Besides IIGJ, New Delhi there are two more projects: IIGJ Mumbai and IIGJ Jaipur. IIGJ New Delhi has a long standing reputation as the leading specialized institute for jewelery education. Set up in 1986, it is one of the oldest and most experienced institutes of its kind.
IIGJ, New Delhi is one of the few institutes in India to get the quality mark of ISO 9001:2000 which prove that the institutes credo is maintained through out. The objectives of the Centre are to provide a higher level of systematic education in jewellery design and manufacturing and to bring the quality of Indian jewellery on par with international standards for the Indian market as well as for export purpose. The enormous potential for exports creates employment opportunities and at last but not least to earn foreign exchange.
