Media studies is an academic discipline and field of study that deals with the content, history and effects of various media; in particular, the 'mass media'. The subject varies greatly in theoretical and methodological focus, but may be broadly divided into three interrelated areas: the critique of artistic styles and aesthetic forms (genre, narrative, and so on), the study of the production process (e.g. technologies and markets), and sociological analysis (of ideological effects, reception and consumption, etc.).

    Admission Process
    The JNU National Entrance Test (NET) Candidates found eligible to appear in the test will be sent Admit Cards. In case the admit card fails to reach any candidate then he/she may check his/her name on the website. The Written Test paper will have two Sections : Section-A will have 100 one-mark questions and Section-B will have 25 two-mark questions. The duration of the test will be two hours. The candidates who qualify the written test will be called for Group Discussion (GD) and/or Personal Interview (PI).
