The Bandla Educational Society was founded by Prof. B. K. Rao in 2007. Prof. Rao held several positions in over 30 years of academic service. He served in the Indian Air Force in the field of Navigational Electronics. In 1978, he was chosen as the Senior Scientist in Research & Training unit for Navigational Electronics at Osmania University. In 1979, he moved to Siddartha Engineering Collge, Vijaywada, on being offered Professorship by the Nagarjuna University. He served as Professor and Head of the department of Electronics and Communications Engineering. He then moved to Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering, Vijaywada and served as a Professor and HOD of ECE department. From 1999-2006, and from 2007-2008, he served as the Principal of Vignan's Engineering College, Vadlamudi, and Director of Vignan Institute of Technology and Science, Hyderabad. Prof. Rao graduated in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering from IETE, Delhi and obtained Master’s Degree in Microwave Engineering from Osmania University with distinction.
