The course is designed to provide a broad basis in pure and applied Physics along with specific engineering inputs. The diversity of courses taught allows students to explore many different fields. Students of Engineering Physics are given courses by the Department of Applied Physics and numerous other departments and in the process exposed to a very stimulating curriculum. The Department of Applied Physics offers courses in mechanics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, quantum theory, condensed matter physics, astrophysics, atomic physics etc. A wide range of courses in electronics and electrical engineering such as analog electronics, digital electronics, microprocessors, microwaves, optical communication, power transmission and distribution, digital control systems etc. are also offered during the program. Electives in the final year allow students to focus on specific areas of interest. The final semester is devoted almost entirely to project work.
