The International Media Institute of India is a collaborative effort by the Society of Policy Studies in Delhi and the International Center for Journalists in Washington, DC.
The goal of the Institute is to provide the next generation of Indian journalists with the skills needed to succeed in the converging media world. The six-month course beginning in January, 2010, will teach the reporting, writing, audio and video skills necessary to produce news for print, audio, video and new media platforms.
Students will complete their assignments on Internet-enabled laptops. At the end of the course, they will receive a Post Graduate Certificate in Journalism and will be fully qualified to work as reporters or copy editors in traditional or new media platforms.
