The goal of this programme is to produce socially responsible Physicians & Surgeons which are sensitive to the health needs of this country, capable of ministering to those needs and to be aware of the necessity of continuing their own education. More emphasis will be towards imparting education to persons seeking to become physicians with the knowledge and skills required for prevention and treatment of disease.

10+2
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year just preceding the year in which admission is sought. He should have passed with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology 10+2 or equivalent, scoring a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in year 2001 and after can only apply. If there is any gap in study, the candidate has to submit affidavit explaining gap in study.
