The Department of commerce at St. Wilfred’s college enjoys an eminent reputation with excellence of teaching in this discipline. It is the highly ranked department in commerce among the colleges of this State. From a modest beginning in the past and now it is a very big department of this college. The department offers undergraduate and post undergraduate courses both. We believe in the power of ideas and always welcome new ideas whether it is from staff members or students. We have been imparting education to the students from considerable number of years and even catering more than thousands of students this year. We value such an education which includes interdisciplinary and critical approach.. But only theoretical approach of studies is not enough in today’s world. The practical applications of theoretical knowledge make the studies more interesting and applicable to its maximum extent. We have stepped towards discovering and introducing new and creative methods of learning. We believe that our students must have information about what is going on, in the country and the world along with the academics. We have qualified and committed faculty in this college to enhance and assure maximum learning. As this college has always laid emphasis on extracurricular activities, we have been engaged in conducting various such activities to create a conductive environment for the students of this college. The students participate in Sports and Games as well as in the cultural competition/programs organized by the college and institutions outside both at the university and state level. Besides Annual, Test, Class Tests, Surprise Test, Mock Test are conducted regularly to assess the achievement of the students throughout the year.
