Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha, established in 1954, is a central body, which runs more than 300 Institutions, located in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. This central body was the result & the foresight and vision of His Holiness Jagadguru late Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji of the 1000 year old Suttur Mutt. The Mahavidyapeetha spans an entire range of Institutions - from Creche to Research Institutions.

The present Pontiff, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, is the President of Mahavidyapeetha. Under his dynamic leadership and blessings, many high schools, several colleges of arts, science, law and commerce, one Medical College, two Pharmacy Colleges, one Dental College, four Engineering Colleges a few Polytechnics and Industrial training Institutions are forging ahead in their quest for "Education for All". Today JSS Mahavidyapeetha runs 300 Institutions all over India. More than 60000 students are pursuing their education in the JSS System, which has about 5000 faculty members & other staff coalescing their efforts towards the development of this organization.
