Fellow Programme In Health And Hospital Management (FPM)
Course Details
HMR has started the Fellow Programme in Health and Hospital Management (FPM) – a doctoral level programme - from this year with the objective of developing research capacity and adequate in-depth knowledge among the students who are interested to build careers in research, teaching and consultancy in health care organizations, academic institutions, and health care related programmes. The programme is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The FPM is a full-time programme and would take approximately three years to complete with a provision of one-year extension, if necessary. During this period, the student will go through appropriate course work, and submit a Thesis at the end of the programme. The Thesis should make a significant contribution to the discipline of health and hospital management or to one of its source disciplines. The programme will start in the first week of December 2011.

    Post Graduate
    Masters’ Degree or Postgraduate Diploma with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Hospital and Health Management, Postgraduate degree in Medicine, Health Informatics, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Economics, Commerce, Demography and Statistics. Faculty in management institutions and working professionals with relevant qualifications and experience are encouraged to join FPM and will be given preference in selection.

    The FPM student will be provided with financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 per month as a scholarship for the first 18 months. After that, and upon clearing the comprehensive examination, he /she will receive Rs. 18,000 per month for a maximum period of 18 months. In addition, a contingency grant will also be given to them to support their field work, purchase of books, etc. The grant of financial assistance will be subject to satisfactory progress in the programme. In addition, the tuition fee will be waived. The institute usually provides hostel / apartment accommodations for both single / married students on its campus on payment of rent. In case there is a shortage of accommodation, and if the student is a local resident, he / she may be permitted to make their own arrangement and reside outside the campus.
