The B. S. Nautical Technology programme at TMI is spread over a period of four years, structured into eight academic semesters. After three years training at the campus, students will have to undergo a one-year structured training programme on board ships or other marine related activities. In addition to theoretical and practical training, students are required to participate in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the Institute.

The success and efficacy of the Internship and Final Placements Programmes is in no small measure due to the fact that TMI students are particularly well prepared to be effective workers during the internship period and that the learning process during internship is guided by a structured programme.
Scholarship
Mrs. Papu Tolani, wife of Dr. N. P. Tolani has kindly instituted one scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- per semester, for the Nautical Technology programme.
This is a merit-cum-need based scholarship. Once the scholarship is offered, it will be continued for the entire programme to the one student selected from each batch of new entrants, provided the student's performance and/or conduct has been satisfactory.
