The School of Fashion Designing of APG Shimla University provides students with a thorough understanding in design development skills, fashion presentation, market knowledge and trend forecasting. It guides students towards their select area of interest, in the domain of women’s wear, menswear, sportswear, kids wear and further explore design through eveningwear/knitwear/sportswear. Students will be introduced to various historic fashion and art movements as exemplars and how these influence contemporary fashion. They will learn commercial viability along with creative fashion and design solutions.

Fashion needs to evolve with every Human Being and it does. This happens when we pass on our experiences to the generations that follow, enabling them to see, think, and further evolve what is to come. The skill based course allows students the ability to explore ideas, in both two and three dimensions, using a variety of construction techniques and approaches through exciting and challenging design projects.

The entire emphasis is on creation of promising designers made possible by extensive exposure to latest machinery and equipment, visual resources and ‘on the job’ experience during the industrial training. Thus the curriculum is designed such that there is a gradual but thorough development of a student into a professional designer.
