he emphasis of the course is on practical laboratory work. M.Sc Applied Genetic students are encouraged to take up internal projects. Guest lectures in specialized papers are encouraged. They are encouraged to participate in work shops and training-programs related to Genetics.There are Industrial visits which keep them in pace with the latest technologies. Some of the subjects covered during the course of study are: Basic Genetics, Drosophila Genetics, Mosquito Genetics, Immuno Genetics, Behavioral Genetics, Human Genetics, Pharmaco Genetics, Medical Genetics, and Advanced Genetics etc.

Graduate in science with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all the optional subjects with any three of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Botany, Applied Botany, Zoology, Applied Zoology, and Environmental Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, and Applied Genetics.
