The Bengal College of Engineering and Technology was set up by the SKS Educational and Social Trust in 2001 with an objective of imparting quality education in Engineering and Technology. The aim of the College has been to maintain a liaison with the industries on one hand and the premier engineering institutions of the region (like the IIT {Kharagpur}, NIT {Durgapur}, CMERI { Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur} , ISI {Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata}, Jadavpur University {Kolkata} ) on the other.
