NBKRIST was established in the year 1979 with the avowed goal to build a top level Technical Institution of Excellence that is capable of producing high caliber engineering professionals needed in the nation building. The Institute is located in a sprawling 184 acre land in Vidyanagar, Nellore District in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Elegant and spacious buildings amidst pleasing landscape and gardens on the banks of the River Swarnamukhi provide the right ambience to the process of teaching and learning.

The Institute has 20,538.08 sq. m of RCC built-up area housing various departments, laboratories, library, computer center, Ladies & Gents Hostel and other amenities. The Institute has a well equipped sports complex spread across an area of 14 acres. 53 independent houses have been constructed to house the staff on the campus. The Institute has an on-campus clinic with a resident doctor. The teaching and learning process at NBKRIST aims at a wholesome development of the student both on knowledge and ethical aspects.
