Krishnasamy College of Engineering & Technology, is administered by Sri Krishnasamy Reddiar Educational Trust which was founded in 1990 by Dr. K.Rajendran, M.S.,F.I.C.S.,F.A.I.S., an eminent surgeon of Cuddalore. The Trust is also administring the Krishnasamy Memorial Matriculation Higher Secondary School at cuddalore which was started in 1989 and Krishnasamy Memorial Polytechnic College , at Cuddalore in 1997. The trust was formed with a noble ideal of providing Technical Educaion in all fields to all people from all areas irrespective of caste, creed and community. The college, however, enjoys the linguisic minority status and preference is given to those who belong to the Telugu linguistic minority.

In order to impart value-based technical education to the students of cuddalore and the surrounding rural areas, the Krishnasamy college of Engineering and Technology was started in the academic year 2001. It is situated at S.Kumarapuram, about 5Kms from cuddalore, on Cuddalore- Nellikuppam High Road.
