Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, Kolkata was established in 1960 as a Govt. sponsored Degree College. The college is going to observe its Golden Jubilee in the year 2010. The College has been named after the famous educationist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy, the college tries to propagate the ideals of the great stalwart and upholds the motto Service, Knowledge, Sacrifice. It is a great pleasure for the college to have been assessed and accredited with the grade of B++ by NAAC which has declared the college as one of the best colleges in West Bengal with a lot of potential to develop.The college is situated on Sodepur Road connecting Jessore Road and Barrackpore Trunk Road. Nearest Railway stations is Madhyamgram on Sealdah-Barasat line, and Sodepur on Sealdah-Naihati line.The college has total campus area of 7.61 acres. The college is a co educational institution with approximately 3000 students.
