National Institute of Technology, Delhi is a new NIT being mentored by NIT, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. NIT, Delhi society is registered under the Societies Act. NIT, Delhi started functioning by admitting students into Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Computer Science & Engineering with an annual intake of 30 students in each branch from the academic year 2010-11 at NIT, Warangal as temporary campus. Suitable location is being identified for the permanent campus at Delhi. In the meantime, plans are afoot to arrange for a temporary campus at Delhi to be operational latest by the academic year 2012–13.
