The Department of Master of Computer Applications was started in the year 1999. This department imparts the postgraduate degree in computer applications. The faculty of department has strength of eleven. All having postgraduate qualification in computer application. The faculty is engaged in research of high quality and published seven research papers in referred Indian and foreign journals and presented six papers at various national and international conferences, seminars. The faculty members have memberships to reputed professional societies like ISTE,CSI etc. Six support staffs assist the teaching staff.

    The minimum qualification for seeking admission to the B.E. (8 semesters) is PUC-II of Karnataka Board or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka with minimum aggregate marks of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and in one of the optional subjects namely Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology. 40% marks in case of SC/ST & OBC. Candidates having passed the qualifying examination from other Boards / Universities are required to secure eligibility certificate from the University (VTU) before being admitted.

    Prospective Engineering students can seek admission to the Institute through the Common Entrance Test (CET) administered by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka. The CET is administered once a year, usually after the Pre-University Examinations of the Karnataka Pre-University Examination Board, Bangalore are over. The Test is notified in Newspapers sometime in January/February each year. The eligibility to take the CET and other criteria and procedures are published along with this notification and are subject to change every year. Students from other States in India are also required to take the CET for admissions to the Engineering Course in Karnataka.
