The origin of Dronacharya Government College, Gurgaon can be traced back to Hindu College Gujranwala (Pakistan). After the partition in the year 1947, it was re-established at its present location at Gurgaon in May 1951 and was rechristened as Dronacharya Sanatan Dharma College. This was the outcome of untiring efforts of Goswami Ganesh Datt, a renowned Sanatan Dharm leader and some philanthropists of the district (Annexure VIII).
