Maitreyi College, a constituent College of the University of Delhi, was founded in 1967 by Delhi Administration. The College community is proud to bear the name of Maitreyi, who was an eminent scholar of the Vedic period who was the wife of sage Yajnavalakya. DESHBANDHU COLLEGE was established in the year 1952 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, in the late Sh. Deshbandhu Gupta-a veteran freedom fighter. The college made a humble beginning with just 72 students and the courses like Prep (arts), Prep (Science) and Pre-medical. The College was transferred to Ministry of Education and later taken over by University of Delhi.

Named after the 9th Sikh Guru Sri GURU TEGH BAHADUR KHALSA COLLEGE is a constituent of University of Delhi. It is a co-educational institution established in the year 1951 by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee to instill ideals of self-sacrifice and service among the youth. It draws inspiration from the life of the Guru who laid down his life in Delhi to uphold freedom of belief and conscience and whose sacrifice and martyrdom for secular ideas are unique in the annals of our country.
