The Nagarjuna Education Society was formed in 1967 by some educationanists,philanthropists and elders who realised the need for another college in Guntur,as the existing colleges in the city could not cope with the growing demand for higher education among the people of the city and its neighbourhood.

The University of Mumbai (known earlier as University of Bombay) is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India. It was established in 1857 consequent upon "Woods Education Dispatch", and it is one amongst the first three Universities in India.

SNDT Womens University is the first Womens university in India as well as in South-East Asia. The University was founded by Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve in 1916 for a noble cause of Womens Education. The first five women graduated in 1921 from this University. Zakir Husain College is the oldest college of Delhi. It was established as a madarsah by Ghaziuddin Firoz Jung in 1780 outside Ajmeri Gate. It later developed into Delhi College in 1825, more popularly known as Dilli College.
