Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF) is the outcome of one of the philanthropic pursuits of Dr. Karsanbhai K. Patel, the legendary business personality who inspires aspiring entrepreneurs all over the country. Drawing a parallel to his business success the foundation has established the world class Nirma University on the sprawling 110 acres of lush green campus on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), was established on 9th March, 1977 by the merger of two national level institutions, viz. the National Institute of Health Administration and Education (NIHAE) and the National Institute of Family Planning (NIFP). The NIHFW, an autonomous organization, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, acts as an apex technical institute as well as a think tank for the promotion of health and family welfare.......
As a tribute to the founder Dr. Sam Higginbottom, who through his sincere services, hard work and dedication has contributed greatly towards enhancing the agriculture production in our Country, a proposal was submitted to Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi to re-christened Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University as Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences.
