The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body, is a National Institute set up in the year 1966 under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, with the active support of the Indian industries. Its headquarters and principal laboratories are located on a sprawling campus in Mumbai and its four regional centres are located at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The Public Petition dated 11-11-1839 initiated the establishment of Madras University. It was in January 1840 with Mr.George Norton as its President, that the University Board was constituted.
