Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore started in 2002 as "Amrita Institute of Technology & Science" with a vision to produce quality engineers with service attitude for the benefit of the society and nation. Initially it had only three branches: Computer Science, Electronics & Communication and Information Technology. It was then affiliated to the Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgum.
