The undergraduate dental training programming leading to BDS degree shall be of 5 years with 240 teaching days in each academic year. During this period, the student shall be required to have engaged in full time study at a dental college recognized or approved by the Dental Council of India.
The aim and objective of the curriculum is to produce Dental Surgeons who are socially acceptable with ability to work safely and effectively on patients in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and oral diseases while ensuring uniformity in standards of technical and clinical requirements.
10+2 The intermediate examination in science of an Indian University / Board or other recognized examination body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
