The Department of Computer Applications was started in 1998 with an objective of producing high quality software professionals. MCA is three-year full-time course consisting of six semesters. The number of seats in MCA course has been enhanced from 60 to 120, as per the AICTE approval. The Director of the department is Dr.K. Usha Rani and Head of the Department, Mr.E.K.R. Patro .They are assisted by 18 faculty members with Post Graduate qualifications. The department is concentrating more on slow learners to improve their standards and extending hands to help poor students. As part of its social outreach programme, SVEC has formed a Placement Consortium to help the engineering and science students of neighbouring colleges. Students from these colleges in the nearby towns of Srikalahsti, Puttur, Madanapalle, Chittoor and Nellore benefit immensely from this Consortium.
