The Karnataka State Open University established on 1st June 1996 vide Karnataka Govt. Notification No. EDI/UOV/95 dated 12th February 1996 - KSOU Act 1992 is considered to be a reputed Open University amongst the open learning institutions in the country. Keeping in view the educational needs of our country, in general and state in particular the policies and programmes have been geared to cater to the needy.

Acharya Institutes is managed by Samagra Sikshana Samithi Trust , which is solely dedicated to imparting professional education to all segments of society . There as many as 11 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate courses in various streams such as physiotherapy, nursing, medical lab technology, radiography, biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, management and computer science.

Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore started in 2002 as "Amrita Institute of Technology & Science" with a vision to produce quality engineers with service attitude for the benefit of the society and nation. The school was conceived of as the grooming ground for future engineering professionals of India.
