Jesus and Mary College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi, was founded in 1968 by the Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary, a religious congregation founded by Saint Claudine Thevenet in Lyons (France) in 1818.

Deshbandhu College (Evening) now named as Ramanujan College was established in 1958 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, Government of India, in the memory of Late. Lala Deshbandhu Gupta, a patriot who had dedicated his life to the national freedom struggle.
