October 22, 2007 was a historical day for the Mahima Shiksha Samiti, the sponsoring body of the Jaipur National University, and for the Seedling Institutions of Higher Education, when the Government of Rajasthan announced the establishment of the University. At VIT, semester pattern is followed. An academic year consists of two semesters. The Fall (Odd) Semester begins in June and the Winter (Even) Semester in December. The academic schedule mentioned in the academic calendar will be strictly followed.

The J K Cement Nimbahera Foundation now envisions the establishment of a world class University in Rajasthan benchmarked to international educational institutions.
