The Basaveshwar Engineering College was started in the year 1963 offering bachelor degrees in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering affiliated to Karnataka University, Dharwad. At present it offers the degree programs in ten disciplines and five post graduate programs. The College is a Government aided institution affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum in Karnataka and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT) is a self-financing Engineering College started in 1979 to meet the growing demand for technically trained manpower for industrial growth of the country. The college is managed by Karnatak Law Society and is affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, INDIA.
